I quite enjoyed your posting from Thursday. Many of the nominally-sane people running about our streets can be seen as having aspects of the defined illnesses, but so long as they can switch about and cope they are not viewed clinically as being ill. Of course, I am seeing this from the viewpoint of a person who is stuck, really stuck, and not able to adapt to current circumstances. I take something of a behavioralist stance with regard to myself: I want to set up a system of actions and rewards, actions that I can do without hysterical efforts that returns rewards that are truly rewarding. In my scheme, small steps lead to bigger steps which lead in the end to enormous strides that circle the globe.
